Itinerary from the Basilica of San Giovanni to the Colosseum

The itinerary leads us to the Colosseum, an iconic symbol of Rome. The only stop on the route is the extraordinary Basilica of San Clemente, which recounts two thousand years of the city's history. Entering this church literally means taking a journey "back in time" through three overlapping levels.

On the upper level is the 12th-century medieval basilica; descending to the intermediate level, you'll find the 4th-century early Christian basilica; and finally, at the lowest level, the 1st-century Roman structures are visible.

From the Colosseum, you can continue along Via dei Fori Imperiali to Piazza Venezia, where various itineraries to discover the city begin.
